JMI and the Olympics: London 2012

By this stage it is no secret that the biggest sporting event in the world will be hosted by London in 2012. Securing such a high profile event as the Olympics has resulted in the need for new facilities. Construction projects of this importance necessitate the support provided by industry leading expertise, which often results in calls to JMI. The 2012 Olympics has proven no exception and the JMI team have been delighted to help a number of contractors with the provision of consultancy, earthing designs, lightning protection designs and soil resistivity surveys. In order to feel more secure in their knowledge base one of the contractors prudently decided that their engineers should undertake a JMI training course in earthing, which is due to take place soon. The athletes who will proudly represent their countries who use the facilities being constructed will be able to focus entirely on their sporting performance whenever JMI has supported the project; they will be safe from the lethal threat of fault currents.
